Functional medicine emerged in the late 1990s as a response to the limitations of conventional Western medicine. Dr. Brockenshire was at the forefront of its development in 1996. Rather than simply treating disease, functional medicine aims to help patients achieve optimal health by recognizing that standard lab ranges were designed for sick populations, not for those seeking wellness and vitality.
The Challenge with Modern Functional Medicine: While functional medicine represented progress, many practitioners have drifted back toward the problems they originally sought to solve: excessive testing without meaningful treatment outcomes. Patients often spend thousands of dollars on comprehensive lab panels that fail to improve their health results.
Our Advanced Functional Medicine Philosophy: We take a different approach. Advanced functional medicine integrates multiple assessment methods—physical exams, neurologic testing, kinesiological evaluation, and physical therapy modalities—to create a comprehensive picture of your health. Rather than ordering expensive tests reflexively, we work with you to determine which tests will actually guide treatment decisions and deliver results.
We understand that lab findings require context. A food sensitivity test, for example, may indicate immune system activity around a particular food, but doesn't necessarily mean you need to avoid it. Our role is to interpret these findings intelligently and focus on the factors that matter most.
Our Testing Options: In-Office Testing: WAVI Brain Scan, Thermometry, Urinalysis, Zinc, NeuralChek, and RightEye, BrainTap, PEMF, Laser (PBM)
Laboratory Test Kits: Saliva, Stool, Urine, Dried Blood Spot, and Hair Analysis. We can also provide requisition forms for Blood work, MRI, and X-Ray imaging.
